As the Senior Android Developer on the platform development team, you will directly impact their vision and mission of helping students succeed by bringing more institutions and students onto their robust student engagement platform through creative contributions to the mobile application development process.
Responsibilities
Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform and suitable for use on all types of Android devices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and w ork on different layers of the infrastructure.
Work with outside data sources and APIs
Unit-test code including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
Continuously evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
Qualifications

At least 4 years of software development experience, at least 2 years in android development with a strong understanding fo the full mobile development life cycle

Strong understanding of Android apps architecture, common design patterns, and related services.

Strong knowledge of Flutter and Java or Kotlin, readiness to learn more programming languages and platforms as needed.

Experience with Android SDK

Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON

Experience with third-party libraries and APIs

Excellent understanding of working with networks, data persistence, building performant UI.

Familiar with standard Android best practices and software design patterns such as MVP and MVVM

Proficient with GIT

Familiarity with push notifications, APIs and cloud messaging

Understanding of IT Standards, UX Design, Accessibility, Agile Methodologies

Have published at least one original Android app is a bonus
This is a remote role based anywhere in North America.
