The Role
Butter is looking for a Technical Sales Account Executive to lead our sales motion with our largest prospects and customers. The Technical Sales team is responsible for creating mutually valuable, long lasting and revenue driving relationships. The scope of the role is owning the sales process from outreach to contract execution. The target customers are large e-commerce subscription companies across industries.
A strong technical background, or experience in the payments industry will help you be successful in this role. Technical Sales at Butter means you can lead a technical discussion with a customer’s engineering team during one call and deliver a sales pitch to their executive team on another. What you can expect to doBecome an expert in Butter’s suite of payment optimization products Lead the sales process from Discovery to Contract with Butter’s largest prospects ($500MM+ and $1Bn+ revenue accounts)Deploy outbound sales tactics to create new business opportunitiesManage a technical sales process selling payments infrastructure servicesNegotiate and execute win-win deals with VP & C-Suite Executives Develop powerful relationships with executives across clients business functions: finance, marketing, product, and engineering Collaborate internally with marketing, technical account management, solution engineering, data, and product teams to create the best customer buying and onboarding experienceConsult with leadership and product to deliver market, customer and product feedback Manage the CRM database with customer information so leadership and cross-functional teams can make data-driven decisionsAchieve and exceed quota targets to deliver revenueWho you areCommunicator: Exceptional communications skills in writing, presenting and pitching. You have the ability to take complex data and use it to create a compelling narrative Negotiator: Ability to lead complex negotiations involving custom commercial agreementsTechnologist: Strong interest in technology and a deep understanding of the spacePayments Enthusiast: A background in the payments industry or a willingness to dive in and learnSelf-Starter: Ability to operate in a ambiguous and dynamic start-up environmentStrategic Thinker: Ability to navigate teams through complex deal constructs, relationships and organizations by setting a vision and implementing processesCollaborator: Ability to proactively solicit, listen, and welcome constructive feedback, and adjust quickly.
