As Vehicle Certification Ford Champ you will be responsible to provide direction, assure compliance and perform certification of vehicles sold in Mexico to meet or exceed applicable laws and regulations. **

Responsibilities**

What you´ll do:

  • Responsible for emission and safety Certification and Verification compliance of all Ford products sold in Mexico.
  • Coordinates documentation process used to certify and verify emission and safety levels.
  • Evaluates and assures new technologies and cost efficiency efforts comply with existing and foreseen regulations.
  • Interprets current and future regulatory requirements and plans for compliance strategies if needed.
  • Monitors organizational environment including government offices and certification organisms, in support planning budget actions conducted within the department by people leader.
  • Coordinate all regulatory issues with overseas counterparts.
  • Primary liaison between Ford of Mexico and Mexican agencies on emission and safety matters.
  • Serves Internal Clients as a principal interface with external regulatory/non-regulatory organizations throughout the world that deal with vehicle safety, rulemaking, and compliance matters.
  • Interacts with Company personnel and governmental agencies on all proposed rules and other activities related to sustainability with intent on safeguarding Ford´s Environmental and Safety interests.
  • Provides regulatory forecasts, requirements for emission and safety data analysis.
  • Seeks to understand product change implications regarding applicable and foreseen regulatory environment, while also providing insight and recommendations. Generates and provides planning for emission technologies, based on expected regulatory changes for product offering compliance.
  • Supports Internal Clients with recommendations for Ford official statements about environmental, safety and sustainability topics.
  • Provides technical advice to local and Federal governmental agencies, including PROFEPA (Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente), SEMARNAT (Secretaria del Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales), SEDEMA (Secretaría de Medio Ambiente) and SE (Secretaría de Economía), etc.
  • Represents Ford within AMIA's (Asociación Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz) Technical Committee, pursuing consensus on issues affecting the industry and in line with company objectives.
  • Supports within AMIA´s Electrified Vehicles Committee on regulatory topics and acts as liaison between the involved parties, such as Government Affairs and Marketing and Sales.

Qualifications

What you´ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in the last year of the course:
    • Mechanical, Environmental or Industrial engineering
  • Microsoft Office management (Word, Excel and Power Point). Advanced English knowledge.
  • Knowledge of vehicle component’s function (Specifically engine design, emissions control, and safety devices).
  • Strong Communication & Negotiation Skills
  • Knowledge of VBA, Excel Macros, etc. (processes improvement).
