A cutting-edge, tax/accounting software focused FinTech firm is looking for a detailed-oriented, results-driven individual to join its Managed Services Outsourcing Team as a Tax Processing Specialist for on a Six (6) Month Temporary Assignment with the Possibility to Extend or Go Permanent. In this role, you will provide administrative support for Sales and Use Tax Compliance by assisting with online filing, system updates, client outreach, partnering with Tax Specialists and other administrative tasks that vary in size and complexity to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely filing of the clients' monthly returns and payments.

This is a fully remote role based anywhere on Mainland USA working 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm (Central Time) with flexibility for Paid Overtime (as/where needed). You must be able to work from the 5th Business Day of the Month through the 20th, usually requires one (1) weekend a month.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Similar Field preferred ; Or equivalent work - Minimum Two (2) years of experience required. - Able to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions - Knowledge of Basic Accounting processes and procedures - Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office - Sense of urgency and a results-oriented attitude - Able to work collaboratively and effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment required - Excellent oral, written, and phone communication skills are essential - Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication as well as strong relationship building/ maintenance - Able to creatively solve and present good solutions to problems - Superior time management and organizational skills - Strong problem-solving skills - Able to collaborate to resolve issues - Able to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks - Must exhibit emotional stability and maturity in the face of stressful situations - Able to listen and understand information and communicate the same

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES - Effectively communicate with clients and taxing jurisdictions via phone and e-mail - Format tax data for importing and processing in core software - Analyze tax data for accuracy, investigate questionable data and take corrective action when necessary - Confirm client approvals and process any requested changes - Maintain monthly tax calendars, reconciling and analyzing reports - Prepare and submit sales tax registrations on behalf of clients - Resolve notices from taxing jurisdictions - Participate in the implementation process for new clients - Extra hours required when needed - Limited flexibility during the peak processing period which is between the 5th and the 20th of each month - Other responsibilities as assigned
