What You'll Do**

As a Staff Software Engineer, your role involves spearheading projects and crafting systems to enhance the developer experience within large enterprises. Leverage your advanced expertise to exert cross-team influence, playing a vital part in an agile development environment. Joining a dynamic engineering team consisting of front-end, back-end, and full-stack engineers, you will actively contribute to the integration of security best practices within a micro-service-based ecosystem. Your responsibilities include championing security measures and serving as a liaison between the product security team and software development team, ensuring the seamless incorporation of security into all CloudBees product offerings.

This position, reporting to the Sr Manager of Engineering, is pivotal in delivering our next-generation solution for DevOps to our customers, with a commitment to prioritizing and implementing security at every stage.

The successful candidate will help to create delivery targets for the team and to continue to increase efficiency. Experience with Agile methodologies is an advantage. **

Role Requirements**

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack software development with an emphasis on integrating security best practices.
  • 5+ years of enterprise software development experience in Go (preferred) / Java / Python is a must, showcasing a deep understanding of security considerations in coding.
  • 5+ years of experience with our tech stack or equivalent: Kubernetes, Go, AWS, and Cloud Storage. Proficiency in Docker, Node, Tekton, and DataDog is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Snyk, Defect Dojo, and prior experience with code sniffing tools (e.g., SonarQube, Checkmarx) is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools, DevOps culture, and SaaSOps, with hands-on experience in developing large CI solutions or directly on K8s, emphasizing security measures.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working on SaaS products, with a track record of building complex software systems successfully delivered to production, including a focus on security considerations.
  • Excellent understanding of all aspects of software development, project management, quality assurance, and customer advocacy, integrating security seamlessly throughout.
  • Ability (and preference) to work in an Agile empowered environment, demonstrating autonomy and a proactive approach to security innovations in a fast-paced industry.
  • A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership, with the ability to participate actively or drive pen-testing and other security initiatives, providing added advantage.
  • Meets/exceeds CloudBees functional, leadership, and foundational skills requirements for this role, with a commitment to advancing security practices in software development.
