Job description

Job Description

We’re looking for Technical Program Managers who want to work on innovative products that will help people make life-changing decisions. You will focus on solutions that build clinical platforms that scale to serve millions of patients a year.

Utilize your technical and business skills to make a meaningful impact in an industry that is primed for innovation and change! This is a great opportunity to join an entrepreneurial, cross-functional team working on practical technical challenges and directly contributing to the commercial success of the company. **

What you’ll do:**

  • Develop a deep understanding of the internally built applications and provide data-driven insights into those areas
  • Plan, organize and manage software development roadmaps that span multiple teams including software engineers, clinical scientists, commercial stakeholders, and company leadership
  • Gather and understand full project requirements, and work closely with developers to deliver on those requirements
  • Develop best practices to ensure that the scope, ROI, objectives, and success metrics for programs are understood, measured, and reported to leadership
  • Identify development dependencies and bottlenecks while working with developers, support staff, and stakeholders to drive programs to completion
  • Deliver outstanding results through constant cross-functional communication, conflict resolution and decision-making
  • Evaluate proposed new systems for implementation, application integration, workflow automation, and performance optimization
  • Run processes and meetings that accelerate, not hinder, team velocity
  • Be the liaison between the business and the development team to bring products through the full software development lifecycle; on-spec and on-time
  • Partner effectively with external and internal teams in translating end-user requirements and system domain expertise into detailed technical product requirements
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and execute clinical verification and validations of new and changed functionality
  • Be accountable for schedules and report progress regularly to all stakeholders while mitigating risks along the way
  • Ensure the quality and completeness of product and project requirement documents
  • Keep the focus on priorities while shielding the team from distractions and interferences
  • Be an advocate, but not a zealot, for agile development best practices across the organization
  • This role will work with engineering teams that are accountable for product and program development efforts to support the company’s DNA Tests across the Myriad sites

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience with a BS or MS
  • Prior success as a technical program manager
  • Background in genetics or molecular biology a plus
  • Previous clinical experience (CAP/CLIA, FDA, etc) a plus
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on a wide range of projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and personalities
  • Fluency with Jira, Confluence, and Project Management tools
  • Can effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all roles and levels of management
  • Able to use clear, simple language to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, never leaving issues unresolved
  • Well versed with agile or scrum concepts (sprints, backlog, burndown charts), with PMP and/or Certified Scrum Master certifications preferred
