Participate in the global computer support team – maintaining hub, vessel, and remote in-country center seismic data processing computer systems.
Travel as required and assist in the onsite installation and maintenance of remote seismic data processing computer systems. · Installation of data processing computer systems and peripheral operations.
Confirmatory testing of new and existing computer systems.
Day-to-day maintenance of local processing systems including nodes and tape drives.
Acting as on-call support for any problems escalation out of working hours according to schedule.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management ·
In the absence of level 1 support, field and record support calls from Geophysicists, and record corrective action taken, passing on level 3 support as required.
Field and record support calls related to remote systems, and record corrective action taken, passing on level 3 support as required.
Interact with vendors and suppliers for purchasing hardware and associated software.
Provide training to level 1 support engineers and operators.
Responsible for the continuous improvement, implementation, and monitoring of the Quality Management System; its policies, processes, procedures, and related documents.
Ensure adherence to and fulfillment of HSE and QA requirements Any other reasonable task requested by management.
Requirements
·Relevant degree / higher education and appropriate experience.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Have competence in several of the following disciplines:
Operating systems: Red Hat Linux, Linux Kernels, Windows, windows server
Peripheral systems: Tape Drives, Automatic Tape Libraries, Disk Subsystems, Storage Area Networks, RDP and equivalent, parallel storage, filesystem.
Facilities: Power and Electrical systems, Air Conditioning, Health and Safety regulations and legislation.
Data Centre environment: center power delivery and power standards, HVAC, Fire Suppression, Control, and Monitoring systems.
Networks: Administration, Switch Architecture.
UGE (grid Engine): installation and operation.
Administration: System Documentation, Shipping and export of computer hardware, Change Control, Project Planning, Report Writing; Non-CI systems DP Desktop Architecture.
