Job Summary**

The Channel Sales Specialist has the primary responsibility of facilitating sales growth of Avient’s Specialty Engineered Materials (SEM) product solutions by developing and managing relationships with our Channel partner. **

Essential Functions**

  • Be a catalyst that facilitate growth of sale of SEM solutions through Channel
  • Be a primary point of contact for Channel team for all rigid, TPE and long fiber solutions.
  • Manage all aspects of account management for all accounts that includes conducting business reviews, responding to price requests & negotiations, order management, quality complaints, responding to business at risk and winning lost business
  • Promote and engage Channel sellers with new developments to spur the growth
  • Pull in SEM & Avient Design’s technical resources as needed for supporting a new development opportunity
  • Provide support getting sample materials, technical datasheets and any other information requested by customers
  • Be responsive to the needs of Channel sellers, generate mutual trust & respect, make our sales process hassle free & fast whereby Channel team views CSS as an ally
  • Attend Channel Partner’s Regional sales meetings, with Channel Manager, as needed
  • Bring awareness to issues preventing growth and provide solutions to Channel Manager
  • Identify areas of opportunities for growth areas in conjunction with Channel Manager and drive those initiatives through the Channel.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time to meet the changing needs of the business ,

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in either business with sales and/or marketing major or an engineering degree in either Chemical or Plastic/polymer
  • 3-5 year of experience in sales, product management, plastic materials technical service and/or customer service
  • Plastics industry experience preferred

Additional Qualifications

  • Salesforce.com experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer focus; demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels
  • Able to deal effectively with ambiguity in a fast paced global environment
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent listening and negotiation abilities
  • Self-motivated and be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with MS-Word, Excel and Power-point preferred

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to traverse and operate computer and other office equipment.
  • Typical work is in a home office environment where the noise level is low to moderate.
  • Travel up to 10-25% - customer visits, annual training/corporate meetings & district meetings
