A Senior Project Consultant with our firm will work on a team and be assigned to a project to work at one of our client locations and benefit from the extensive experience of the senior members. You will learn the needed skill sets and business techniques required to be successful in our business and across multiple industries. The position responsibilities are contributing to the scope of project management which relates to workflow analysis, planning, change process and systems implementation. We work closely with our clients in a partnership to achieve measurable and sustainable results in process flow, operational, efficiency and productivity improvement as well as performance management.
FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Perform initial feasibility analysis reviewing organization structure, communication, layout, support functions, customer service, process flow, crewing, equipment/maintenance, and quality control in order to leverage knowledge and create detailed understanding.
Utilize a working knowledge in various continuous improvement methodologies such as: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc. combined with the consulting tools USCCG has internally developed. Observe how clients perform work now, observe and collect quantitative and qualitative data on the client’s current state performance, assess value and find opportunity for improvement and provide recommendations based on the observation including:
- Examine processes for variation e.g., such as waste, quality, efficiency, effectiveness, productivity.
- Identifies waste, and marks type of waste on process flow map.
- Interprets client’s operational, quality, and financial data, engineering drawings, diagrams, value stream mapping and confers with USCCG and client’s operators, supervisors and managers, or other client staff to determine throughput, quality and reliability standards.
- Collect and develop the narrative for steering team discussions.
- Works with client’s people to select product for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests for variety of qualities such as performance, dimensions, and mechanical characteristics.
- Operates various diagnostic equipment and software as needed to meet client expectations.
- Be detailed, dedicated, determined, disciplined and proactive on projects providing thorough communication with the Project Manager as well as building rapport with other team members.
- Develop an operating system by identifying capability and capacity and creating process controls to manage and measure the process, as well as creating a sustainable culture that fosters continuous improvement and a formal system of accountability.
- Perform daily functions in process monitoring, performing daily schedule control rounds, handling daily shift review meetings, providing daily operating reports and weekly graphs and pareto charts as well as progress evaluations.
- Must be able to lead and mentor Project Consultants.
- Be proactive in self-development by reading, reviewing USC video training modules, becoming a member of APICS and participate in any other professional development opportunities.
TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE:
Advanced computer skills; including MS Office Suite, MS Project, Power BI, Tableau, Web conferencing, and CRM/ ERP Systems
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of business process practices in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work with Project Managers to create a weekly/daily plan and execute these plans.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with diversity of people and cultures at all levels of an enterprise.
- Great time management skills. Be adaptable to adjusting to client expectations.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 2 to 5 years in the business arena at supervisory level or above. Prefer manufacturing or Logistics experience.
- An undergraduate business-related or industrial engineering degree (advanced degree is a plus).
- Have a valid driver’s license, and a Canadian or US Passport.
- Ability to travel a minimum of 5 nights a week.
- Fluency in multiple languages is an asset.

Sr. Project Consultants are bonus eligible. The company provides excellent benefits and covers most of the cost for employees. Employees contribute a small percentage to medical and vision plans but the company fully covers the cost of a telemedicine plan, dental, life insurance, STD and LTD.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Long periods may be spent looking at a computer screen.
Must be able to spend extended periods of time in-flight and travel long distances.
