Job description

Are you a skilled Marine Engineer looking for a new opportunity to support and contribute to global projects? Our Employment Agency is currently working with a leading company based in China to help them find top talent to join their team based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Understands the specific specifications and requirements of the assigned project and Industry Standard, Classification Society and Regulatory requirements.
  • To carry out investigations and assessments relating to marine engineering matters
  • Directs Engineers and Senior Engineers that are located globally to develop engineering specifications (drawings, data sheets etc.) specific to the assigned project, reviews them and validates with the Project Manager and client before incorporating them in the RFQs.
  • Independently manages and develops solutions to technical/engineering and related problems by analyzing the issues/data, interpreting the analysis and evaluating various options/measures using experience, precedents and professional references
  • Visits suppliers, reviews test results of process equipment to ensure that they function as per specifications. Where necessary, works with the suppliers/contractors concerned to rectify the deficiencies making sure that they comply with the specifications and are ready on time.
  • Plans and organizes resources and schedule to meet project timelines and departmental objectives
  • To perform surveys relating to marine engineering matters
  • To produce letters and reports detailing the findings of their investigations and/ or attendances
  • To provide expert evidence in court/ arbitration in relation to their written expert testimony
  • To provide advice/ support to clients in marine engineering related matters
  • To follow company operating procedures
  • Any other ad hoc duties which fall within the individuals abilities

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent
  2. Highly motivated and proactive individual with excellent attention to detail
  3. A motivated, approachable and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude
  4. Good communication skills, good written and spoken English
  5. Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  6. Willing to travel for work
