Your missions

Key purpose:

The Payment Platform Owner manages the technology strategy and business feature delivery for the platform. Accountable for the development, deployment and support of the complete platform technology stack. Ensures streamlined operation of the platform team, aligned with the objectives of the organisation

You will be responsible for the delivery of business features that improve the customer experience and lead to growth in revenue. You'll work with clients, product managers, designers and developers to define key requirements, design a system solution and deliver tangible results. You'll also ensure that all systems are continuously improved through regular testing.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the technology strategy and business feature delivery for the Platform
  • Manage the feature & service request delivery of the various platform system streams, as well as demand and capacity/resource balancing
  • Manage all technology decision-making and responsibility for the development, deployment and support of the complete platform technology stack
  • Provide leadership and guidance to delivery and business units to ensure agreed availability, supportability and operational capability for PSH platform applications.
  • Support key Agile SDLC ceremonies, including introductions, show & tells, Backlog grooming and retrospectives Understand the existing platforms & their capabilities
  • Proactive identification of platform enhancements (including nonfunctional), lead business case approval process, facilitate communication of roadmaps and ensure stakeholder engagement
  • Work collaboratively with business stakeholders and operational teams to lead the prioritisation of changes and lead defect backlog prioritisation
  • Ensure system designs support the goal of right first time, reduce time to market and/or optimise cost to deliver and support - whilst meeting agreed business requirements
  • Maintain an understanding of the existing and potential platform capabilities
  • Define and drive adoption of platform principles/standards ensuring adherence to MCG enterprise blueprints
  • Maintain an understanding of the current and emerging business plans and strategies as they affect the platform applications
  • Share knowledge and expertise to support business change, release planning and deployment activities
  • Contribute to business case / ROI proposals concerning platform enhancements
  • Help to provide training within the platform team
  • Review and approve estimation and impact assessment activities to support capacity and capability planning as well as key system documentation
  • Act as a point of escalation for Platform related defects and major Incidents
  • Define target platform structure, drive the transformation to reach the target and governance adherence (SLAs)
  • Share knowledge and expertise to support release planning and deployment activities
  • Actively manage and forecast budget for Platform related resourcing and licensing
  • Support vendor management in maintaining the relationship with 3rd Party suppliers

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field required
  • 8+ years relevant experience of which 3 5 years management experience in a software development background
  • Deep technical expertise and a good understanding of the underlying business processes and systems
  • Experience of working in a high-pressure environment and working to tight deadlines
  • Experience of working with multiple third-party vendors
  • Experience in advocate development practices like test-driven development, continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Experience in working on several successful projects in the web and mobile environment
  • Previous exposure to full life cycle systems development
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies
