HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) CONSULTANT

Position Summary:

This HR Consultant position includes a flexible work arrangement with both remote work and negotiable hours, up to full-time. The duties will vary significantly day-to-day based on the needs of clients. As Two Twelve Consulting is proud to be a client-centered business, an important part of this role will be assessing organization requests to fully understand their current situation and responding with sound HR advice and/or recommendations. This position will have the ongoing support of one or more Senior HR Consultants for both mentorship and guidance. The successful individual will be required to be located in the Grande Prairie area as they will be expected to be available to attend various meetings and HR events throughout the Peace Country.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Respond to client requests and questions in a timely manner

Provide advice and recommendations organizations for resolution of daily issues

Formulate strategic and practical plans to address human resource matters

Conduct HR research and analyze metrics and suggest insight to improve decision making

Development, revision and/or integration of policies, procedures and employee handbooks

Review current systems and processes and make modifications to address issues

Provide support in recruitment, retention and/or training, including the development of job descriptions and job postings as well as, a strategic recruitment plan

Conduct salary compensation reviews within labour market to determine competitive rates

Provide recommendation for developing and carrying out strategic succession plans

Process documentation and prepare reports

Lead and/or assist with various HR programs and projects

Perform routine and complex investigations in the areas of harassment, discrimination and other employee relations issues

Attend meetings and other HR functions as required

Keep updated on new trends and advancements in the human resources field

Act as a resource and provide referrals, if needed

Travel as required

Qualifications & Skills:

Post-secondary education in Human Resource management, or a combination of equivalent education and experience

3-5 years experience in Human Resources, preferably as an HR Generalist is preferred

Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or a willingness to obtain

Understanding of Alberta Employment Standards Act and other labour laws

Understanding of Human Rights Act and WCB legislation

Class 5 drivers license

Ability to maintain client privacy and confidentiality

Excellent multitasking and organizational skills

Strong communications skills, both verbal and written

An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities

Desire to work on a dynamic, knowledgeable, and fun team with a passion to deliver excellent services and an interest in Human Resources
