Your missions

POSITION PURPOSE To lead a tribe in delivering software applications into live operation within agreed schedule, effort and scope parameters, as part of our P365 transformation program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SCOPING & PLANNING

  • Work with program leadership to define initiatives to implement the Pickles transformation roadmap.
  • Drive scoping and planning of initiatives, facilitating solutioning, estimation and execution planning.
  • Facilitate buy-in to plan by tribe and key business stakeholders.

SOLUTION DELIVERY

  • Create and manage an operating rhythm for your tribe to effectively execute delivery from analysis, design, development through to QA and delivery into program end-to-end activities.
  • Proactively manage project risks, issues and dependencies, ensuring mitigation and management plans are effective, up-to-date and followed up
  • Ensure the productivity of staff and suppliers working with the tribe.
  • Manage the transition of initiatives into operational mode.
  • Track the progress of each initiative, providing visibility and accurate forecasts-to-go.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Develop strong working relationships with leaders of other teams and tribes, including UX, EA, Change Management, QA in order to achieve the objectives of your tribe and the broader program.
  • Proactively manage business stakeholders, communicating, setting expectations and managing obstacles.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Drive engagement and motivation of all tribe members to maximise their buy-in and performance.
  • Assist in driving and facilitating upskilling and personal development objectives of your tribe members.

DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS

  • Continuously seek and act on feedback from inside and outside of the tribe on improving how it operates.
  • Contribute to improving and streamlining business processes and requirements where possible.
  • Contribute to improving Pickles ways of working, including our application lifecycle management (ALM).

KEY SUCCESS MEASURES

  • Successful scoping and delivery of initiatives in line with schedule, effort/cost and scope parameters.
  • Key stakeholders across the business and IT informed and bought-in to the outcomes of the tribe.
  • Establishment of a high-performance tribe via engagement, upskilling and continuous improvement.
  • Strong working relationships developed across the Pickles IT leadership.
  • Demonstrable action to continually improve Pickles and its delivery leadership competency.

KEY ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS

MANDATORY

  • 10 years+ experience in delivery leadership roles, including on significant software development projects
  • Broad experience in delivering complex software through all SDLC phases.
  • Extensive experience with Agile, particularly SCRUM and Kanban.
  • Strong people management skills to drive stakeholder agreement and address blockers.
  • Strong analytical, communication and documentation skills to conceptualise and explain solutions
  • Undergraduate degree in business or IT
  • Comfortable working in a pressured and dynamic environment.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Prior experience on a digital transformation / migration program.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to act in a BA capacity well regarded.
  • Understanding of Domain Driven Design, Event-driven architectures, microservices and event streaming
  • Exposure to other software delivery methodologies, eg. Waterfall.
