Summary:
Synterex, Inc. is a global consortium of highly experienced clinical development professionals specializing in medical writing, submission publishing, and clinical science and operations support. Synterex offers remote or on-site services, with a focus on ensuring well-documented trials that exceed typical industry key performance indicators, from early drug development through post-approval.
Synterex is seeking an organized, motivated individual to provide a vision for our account and finance department. This individual would be responsible for the entire financial side of our company. You would be responsible for invoicing, collecting payments, the full employee lifecycle, budgeting, forecasting, and powering the client relationship. The Senior Accounting Specialist reports to the Principal of Business Operations and also interacts regularly with members of the Executive Leadership Team.
Location: Fully remote. Must be able to attend key meetings virtually and communicate with staff during business hours in the U.S. Eastern Time Zone.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead month close efforts including reconciling accounts and creating clean financial statements for review monthly standalone and against budget and forecasts
- Ensure company is maintaining accurate expense allocations per project and aligning the data with monthly invoicing process.
- Responsible for payroll for all employees and contractors adhering to the time schedule of each respective pay group.
- Onboard employees, contractors, and vendors utilizing standard procedures and keeping company aligned with internal and external policies.
- Managing the financial health of client relationships using purchase order and contract data
- Assist with creation of budgets and forecasts.
- Serve as back up for other accounting roles ensuring coverage of all related activities
- Other tasks as need and assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in biotechnology/CRO/pharmaceutical industry, specifically in invoicing/AP/AR, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience with NetSuite, ADP and Office 365 preferred; QuickBooks experience a plus
- GAAP knowledge is required for US entity; IFRS a plus for expansion
