What to expect:
The Manager, Fund and Partner Development is an experienced fundraiser, who will primarily support the Executive Director in building a robust and sustainable external fundraising program, expand partnerships that support the achievement of the Foundation’s mandate in accordance with the strategic plan and achieving the external fundraising goals of the organization.
This includes:
Fundraising and Donor Development - Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors to meet annual fundraising goals. - Support the development of a fundraising business plan, containing strategies related to individual donors and prospects including identification, qualification, cultivation and successful solicitation. - Identify and propose potential fundraising programs/initiatives in alignment with the strategic priorities of the Foundation and Community Investment priorities of potential funders. - Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Foundation programs and uses this to create opportunities for donor engagement. - Engage with and professionally support all levels and volunteers in cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities. - Prepare compelling and strategic fundraising materials including, but not limited to, information briefs, cases for support, briefing notes, sponsorship materials and stewardship reports. - Liaise with marketing/communications/digital and donor relations personnel to develop fundraising and recognition materials. - Develop and maintain accurate, professional and current records, actions and reports. - Assist in the preparation of an annual plan of measurable goals and strategies (including precise and practical deadlines), to maximize commitments. - Report fundraising activities (including names of volunteers to recruit/visit, solicitation calls, cultivation calls) at team meetings and ensures that these actions are recorded in the Foundation’s database. - Act as an ambassador throughout the community and constituents, positively representing the Foundation and CWB Group.
Partnership Development, Management and Communications - Identify, engage and build formal and informal relationships with like-minded organizations with complimentary competencies that align with the mission and vision of the Foundation. - Identify opportunities to collaborate on initiatives that meet mutually beneficial objectives, and initiate joint or support based funding proposals. - Establish methods and metrics to enable qualification and quantification of impact for collaborative initiatives. - Manage collaboration and partnership activity to ensure that objectives are met.
Research - Manage a portfolio expected to grow to 80-120 prospects (identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship) using a focused and accountable approach of strategy development and implementation. - Gain understanding of the education and financial needs of the CWBWF.
Donor Communications and Stewardship - Engage with and professionally support business partners and volunteers in qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities. - Develop and implement relationship management strategies and timelines. - Work closely with donor relations staff to determine the best strategies for effective stewardship of donors. - Lead and collaborate in the development and publication of all necessary materials, proposals (philanthropic and sponsorship), cases for support, letters, reports and acknowledgments for cultivation and stewardship of partners. - Work with colleagues to plan and execute proposals and targeted communication plans for new, existing and potential partners. - Acknowledge that current donors are the Foundations top prospects and lead accordingly to recognize them for their investments with professional stewardship activities, communications and impact reporting.
Management, Supervision and Administration - Collaborate with marketing communications, research, and program staff to identify new opportunities – prospect identification, gaps, and produce professional, high quality donor/sponsor communications, impact reporting and brand building. - Support the efforts of Foundation leadership and staff to build ambassadors, trusted partners and community within and external to the CWB Group of companies, and to promote mutually supporting relationships with the CWB Group that enhance the financial and operating results of the Foundation and the overall organization.

This position reports to the Executive Director, CWB Welding Foundation You will be working remotely from your home office with possible occasional travel to project locations across Canada. CWB has adopted a remote-first working model, where employees will work from their home office, servicing the client within their specified areas either remotely or in person. We are embracing radical flexibility, where employees are encouraged to work a schedule that works best for them, their team, and their clients.
What you bring to the table:
- Fundraising experience and success preferably in a mid-sized not for profit organization.
- University degree, Business administration or relevant field experience, stakeholder relations or a combination of education and experience
- CFRE designation or in process.
- Relationship management software proficiency
- Corporate social responsibility.
- Extremely effective interpersonal skills with a professional presence and manner, capable of exercising independent judgement, initiative and flexibility.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, work proactively, and manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
- Excellent organization, planning and time management skills with exacting attention to detail.
- Superb critical and analytical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to speak confidently to individuals and groups in a variety of settings.
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint), demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in Raisers Edge or equivalent donor management system.
- Positive attitude, ability to take responsibility and be accountable, ability to deal with change in the workplace and be innovative, respect for others.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Ability to travel throughout Canada is required.
- A criminal record check is required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - This is a remote, work from home position - Travel is required from time to time across Canada.
