Your key accountabilities include monitoring databases for optimal performance, troubleshooting issues, ensuring data integrity, and performing disaster recovery procedures. Join our team and play a crucial role in the evolution of our data management systems!Key Responsibilities:Optimal Database Performance: - Monitor databases to ensure optimal performance at all times. - Troubleshoot database issues and provide resolutions within SLAs.
Data Integrity and Security: - Maintain data integrity by monitoring database activity to ensure compliance with security regulations. - Perform disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity. - Create and execute backup procedures to protect data from loss or corruption.
System Maintenance and Development: - Install and upgrade database software to ensure compatibility with current technology standards. - Develop or test new database applications as needed. - Write custom scripts to automate routine tasks.
To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Require:Qualifications: - Degree in computer science, information systems, or a technical certification in a related field. - Certification in SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, or another relational database management system.
Knowledge & Experience: - At least 3 years as a DBA with experience in 2 of the following database systems: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL. - Experience administering cloud-based database solutions, such as Amazon RDS. - Oracle OCI experience is beneficial. - ITIL framework experience. - Project lifecycle experience.
Technical & People Skills: - Basic knowledge of Linux OS. - GDPR for database applications. - Large database (>2TB) maintenance experience. - Database replication and high availability. - Experience with database design, development, and implementation. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team. - Familiarity with Service Now, Confluence, Agile/Kanban working knowledge. - Experience with database monitoring tools such as OEM, Foglight, AppDynamics.
