Overview

This position will report to the Director of Strategic Technologies for Commercial.  The person will have broad responsibility across all Commercial and will act in a technical Systems Analyst capacity. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Partner with Commercial business stakeholders to understand their processes, assist with their technology challenges, and help them be more effective. Translate functional requirements into technical requirements. Ensure the best possible quality of the application
  • Design and build high-performance, reusable, and reliable Apex code with best practices. Develop and customize Lightning components using Aura or Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce pages, APEX, flows, process builder. Implementing Salesforce security and access controls for data protection. Creating and customizing Salesforce Lightning pages and user interfaces using Lightning App Builder.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as designers, product managers, and other developers, to deliver Salesforce solutions that meet business needs. Partner with the IT Capabilities Management and Technology shared services teams to ensure data integrity, availability, and security
  • Implement and manage systems that support the Commercial organization. Oversee the design process for application software and provide technical support from product design to testing and modifications, including creating models and prototypes, evaluating potential risks and defects, analyzing specifications, and customizing applications for business needs.
  • Partner with the greater global Commercial and IT organizations, especially in Europe, Asia and South America
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of systems initiatives and projects
  • Clearly communicate project milestones and status to members of the project team and business stakeholders.

Qualifications 

  • BS/MS and 8 or more years of IT experience, supporting the Commercial organization of a pharma or biotech company.
  • 5 - 6 years of Salesforce experience with developing and customizing Lightning components using Aura or Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce pages, apex classes and triggers, flows, process builder, integrations (rest API, soap API, bulk API), data loader etc. Implementing Salesforce security and access controls for data protection. Creating and customizing Salesforce Lightning pages and user interfaces using Lightning App Builder and Visualforce
  • Experience managing or working with Veeva Commercial Cloud systems is a plus.
  • Technically savvy and capable of balancing both Business Analyst and System Administrative roles (with competency in SDLC, specifically in comprehensive needs analysis, user requirements development, analytical thinking, and development).
  • Capable of effectively leading and executing small to medium complexity projects to completion using project management methodologies.
  • Able to develop process maps, visualize as-is and to-be processes, and propose creative solutions to business needs.
  • Some experience or familiarity with development of strategic plans and long-range roadmaps.
  • A solid understanding of commercial data and analytics, as well as digital strategy
  • Ability to work with matrixed and global teams.
  • Experience with hybrid staffing models, outsourcing and vendor management.
  • Able to work collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
