The Senior Applications Systems Analyst position is responsible for technical and functional expertise and leadership in the development and support of secure web-based data collection, storage, integration, and reporting systems. This position provides leadership in formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and analysis to develop and modify complex information systems. This position also serves as a mentor providing technical expertise to team members.
To be successful in this position, the individual must possess expertise in improving the user experience and interface of our products and services, helping to enhance patient care and streamline processes. Experience with agile development and healthcare are also beneficial. This position may be asked to serve as a product owner.
Application/Systems Development and Support
Writing and testing code, working with databases, supporting customers, and participating in assigned projects.
Analysis and System Design
Project analysis, scope, planning and working with project resources to develop requirements.
Documentation
Documentation of code, technical/functional guides, user's guides, etc.
Mentoring Others
Other duties as assigned
Education Required: Bachelor's degree.
Experience Required: Seven years of progressive software systems implementation and support, business systems process analysis and design, Epic software, or domain to include two years lead/supervisory experience. May substitute require education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.
Preferred Experience: Eight years IT experience in an academic healthcare setting, experience at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center preferred. Technical experience in the maintenance and support of Microsoft Team Foundation Server strongly preferred. Technical experience as a UX/UI designer preferred. Experience with common design platforms (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD) preferred. Experience with the design and implementation of relational database schemas preferred.
