This candidate will primarily be focused on an application modernization effort aimed at eliminating legacy VB6 Winforms applications via recreating and refactoring these applications and processes in C# & WPF, following the MVVM design pattern.
This development will be primarily in .NET 6, however an understanding of .NET Standard and other versions is required.
Ideal Background:
I am more concerned with skills than background, but ideally the person will be a proficient C# WPF developer with a background that supports deciphering older VB6 Winforms code, and assessing how to most effectively replace that in C# WPF.
Healthcare background is unnecessary but might act as a tiebreaker among two qualified candidates.
Team and Team size:
As it relates to this position, the team includes myself (in a Sr Mgmt capacity) and 3 other C#/.NET software engineers and architects.
My larger team includes tech support, tech ops, and other members of management, but this position will not be working much with those groups, if any.
They may be required to work with other PMs as necessary, although none of those report directly to me nor are they currently assigned to this initiative.
Top Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility for this position is explained in item #3.
Every day will be analyzing VB6 application code, recreating, refactoring, and replacing those via C#/.NET WPF applications.
Skills/attributes:
5+ Years - C# .NET WPF development experience.
5+ Relational Database design experience.
VB6 familiarity. No years requirement here, just need them to be able to analyze and decipher VB6 code.
Nice to have:
Experience with database security, performance tuning, Microsoft Office proficiency, although none of these are required.
