Position Overview:

The Manager, Release & Triage Engineering will lead & drive the strategic vision and execution of the release management & Triage process. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in orchestrating complex releases, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and providing mentorship to the release management & Triage teams.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic release plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Build scalable decentralized bug triage process & establish adherence to customer reported bug OLA compliance
  • Drive initiatives to enhance the scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness of the release management process.
  • Lead optimization of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and continuous integration working with operations & engineers.
  • Guide team through industry trends, ensuring cutting-edge technologies are integrated into release & bug triage practices.
  • Provide leadership in driving process improvements, standardizing workflows, and implementing industry best practices.
  • Spearhead initiatives for continuous improvement across the release management lifecycle.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, and Support Teams.
  • Drive advanced automation initiatives, centralized triaging identifying opportunities for innovation and self-service options.
  • Provide Mentorship to the team in career development, fostering skill development and technical growth within the team.
  • Effectively communicate release progress, process changes, and strategic initiatives to stakeholders at various teams & customers.
  • Conduct and lead strategic release meetings, ensuring alignment and addressing challenges.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for issues during critical releases.
  • Drive in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators within the release management lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of release & SDLC process management experience
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Mentoring skills with the ability to guide and inspire a team.
  • Proven experience in providing technical leadership and acting as an escalation point during critical releases.
  • Experience in exploring innovative approaches, such as self-service options, to enhance release & triage efficiency.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release management & bug triage best practices.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and problem solving abilities.
  • Experience working in a customer facing environment
  • Expertise with issues tracking/management
  • Experience in leveraging data-driven insights to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Experience with Version control tools: Git, Bitbucket
  • Experience with iOS and Android mobile deployments including familiarity with Apple Store Connect and Google Play Console.
  • Expertise in best practices in ITIL Release and Change Management
