The Role:
Here at Twinkl, we are currently looking for a content writer/editor for our brand new product “Mexican New Curriculum''. We are looking for creative, innovative, cooperative content writers/editors to join our team and collaborate with making content according to the New Curriculum 2022 from the New Mexican School - NEM”.
You will be helping to create resources specifically designed for first to sixth grade of the primary level in all the areas for the four formative fields (campos formativos) which will be part of the new Mexican Program. As a team we are looking to add new creative ideas and engaging resources to Primary level.
In your role as a writer/editor, you will focus on quality when writing content and help ensure that the content of our resources the writers have written is accurate and well written, helping us to deliver high-quality materials to Mexican students and teachers.
As part of the Mexican Twinkl Team, you will communicate with all the members of the team and other Twinkl team members from LATAM and attend weekly meetings to stay updated on the progress of our work.
How you’ll spend your day:
- Creating resources for the primary level following the product scheme, reviewing and editing content that our Writers have created to ensure it is accurate, well written, suitable for the target year group and providing the correct level of challenge and support.
- Meeting, working and communicating with other team members in a scrum team to achieve sprint goals.
In this role, you will learn:
- Create and adapt materials for the new Mexican curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with other Content Writers and designers to produce educational materials.
- How to create new teacher content for our Mexican team, from ideation stage to publication on the site.
- Remote collaboration, working closely with team members across this market.
- How to develop greater commercial awareness so we can understand the needs of those we want to help.
You’ll work with:
- Delia Rodriguez (Mexico - Country Manager) – Delia Rodriguez has been a teacher for 25 years in different levels of the Mexican basic education and she is in charge of the production of good quality material and promotion of the website page in Mexico.
- Other teachers and team members – the team consists of Content Writers/ Editors and designers, working all together to create material and innovate in Mexican education.
Requirements
To succeed in the role, you will:
- Have an excellent understanding of the New Mexican Curriculum (NEM).
- Have a degree in Primary Mexican Education.
- Have at least 4 years recent classroom experience teaching primary levels.
- Have an excellent understanding of the New Program 2022.
- Have fluent / Native Spanish language skills. (Both written & spoken)
- Have excellent English language skills (both written & spoken)
- Have excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar skills in both English & Spanish.
- Be creative, accurate and passionate about Mexican educational resources.
We’re are especially interested in anyone who also meets one, or a combination of the following:
- Qualifications: Bachelor of Education, Degree of 3 + years or a Teaching Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ classroom experience, currently teaching the grades of the primary level. .
- Experience teaching with the previous Mexican curriculums as well as the New Mexican Curriculum.
