JOB TITLE - Lead Front-End Software Engineer - Remote in the United States
JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Frontend Software Engineerto provide technical leadership and hands-on development expertise within our engineering team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment, enjoys mentoring engineers, and is passionate about building modern, reliable, customer-centric web applications. As a key leader in our team, you will be responsible for shaping the frontend strategy of our cloud-based software platform, working closely with architects, product managers, UI/UX professionals, QA, and other engineering leads. You will also play a crucial role in coaching existing team members to enhance their technical capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Leadership & Strategy (20%)
Define and execute the frontend architecture and strategy for our cloud-based platform.
Collaborate with the product and engineering team as well as the business to understand requirements and use-cases in depth.
Provide technical direction and best practices for UI/UX design, component reuse, performance optimization, and accessibility.
Balance short-term product delivery goals with the need to reduce technical debt and enhance system maturity.
Participate in planning sessions to provide technical insight into feature development and budgeting decisions.
Hands-on Development (60%)
Develop, test, and deploy high-quality React and TypeScript applications.
Lead the development of responsive, mobile-first designs.
Define patterns and components that the team will leverage across multiple web applications.
Implement and optimize frontend performance, security, and scalability.
Assist in maintaining a design system for a consistent user experience.
Ensure quality through robust unit and integration testing.
Work within an Agile development environment, participating in sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
Dive deep into troubleshooting and solving production issues, ensuring system reliability and stability.
Mentorship & Collaboration (20%)
Mentor and coach other engineers, providing guidance on best practices and professional growth.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and experimentation.
Conduct code reviews and participate in definition of engineering standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers, QA, DevOps, product managers, and data scientists.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
7+ years of professional experience in frontend software development.
2+ years in a lead role, mentoring engineers and leading development efforts.
Expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks.
Strong understanding of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.
Hands-on experience with unit testing and test automation.
Familiarity with Azure cloud platform or equivalents such as AWS or GCP.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
"Self-starter" attitude and the ability to make decisions independently.
Organized and comfortable in balancing multiple competing priorities.
Experience driving for results across cross-functional teams while maintaining effective working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Next.js.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary: $160-200K + Bonus
