Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a 504/IEP Case Manager. This position requires working from your home office in Oregon. The 504/IEP Case Manager is a 10-month employee who works collaboratively with teachers, counselors, special education staff, and administrators to administer, monitor, and implement 504 Plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The case manager serves as the liaison between teachers, counselors, specialists, and families, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and district requirements. This role also includes training staff, coordinating meetings, maintaining compliance documentation, and supporting the implementation of accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage and implement 504 plans and IEPs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document 504 and IEP meetings, including annual reviews, reevaluations, and eligibility determinations.
  • Train staff on the identification of students eligible for 504 and IEP services, accommodations, modifications, and legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with educators, counselors, related service providers, and families to support student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust accommodations, modifications, or goals as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of 504 and IEP data in student information systems.
  • Conduct compliance audits and provide necessary reports, ensuring proper implementation of accommodations and modifications.
  • Support general education teachers in implementing instructional accommodations and modifications.
  • Coordinate and provide state testing accommodations as needed.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for parents regarding 504 and IEP services and student progress.
  • Attend relevant professional development, required meetings, and field trips based on school discretion. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator, ensuring adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Oregon Certified
  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, counseling or social work. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3- years teaching or counseling experience
  • Prefer experience in Section 504 leadership
  • Experience with computer-based documentation systems is required
  • Knowledge of Section 504 laws as well as local policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of technology
  • Knowledge of, and experience implementing, instructional accommodations
  • Knowledge of state assessment accommodations
  • Ability to interpret data
  • Skilled in working with computer platforms, including but not limited to, Google apps, Word documents and spreadsheets
  • Skilled in working in collaborative team-based environments
  • Skilled in working with, and presenting, to diverse populations of students, parents, and staff
  • Exercise good judgment in decision-making, especially in difficult circumstances
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
