Job description

To meet our ambitious strategic aims, ULaw has embarked on a major transformation programme and is looking to recruit a Project Manager to join us on our journey. The role will be working remotely (from a UK location) on a fixed term contract for 6 months.


The role sits within the Student Information System (SIS) project to implement Ellucian Banner. Working as part of a broader team and with the support of a Business Analyst and Subject Matter Expert, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a few project workstreams e.g. Admissions, Finance, Curriculum, Student Records, Assessments.


To be successful in the role you will have experience providing effective project management, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, on budget and to the standard required. You will have great interpersonal skills, with the ability to keep business teams on track with an organised and methodical approach.


As our Project Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Project planning and management –scheduling, organising and leading project meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects
  • Defining and managing a well-defined project management process and championing ongoing process improvement initiatives
  • Managing stakeholders in a way that elicits key dependencies and interfaces between projects and project workstreams
  • Collaborating with teams across the University responsible and with vendors / partners for the full change and transformation scope
  • Communicating complex problems/solutions in an articulate manner, using data to support your argument and influence stakeholders


We are looking for people who are/have:

  • Knowledge of Ellucian Banner or equivalent experience of a University’s transformation programme
  • Experience of producing clear and detailed business process models and requirement specifications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentations, specification and business case writing
  • Methodical; good attention to detail
  • Fair, consistent, open, and honest
