Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Accounting Assistant to join our client’s innovative team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in expanding their bookkeeping services, working with cutting-edge accounting software to manage financial data for a diverse portfolio of small businesses. Responsibilities

• Reconcile financial records for multiple small business clients using QuickBooks and potentially Xero, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  
• Integrate and analyze financial data from various sources to create comprehensive, insightful reports for clients and internal use
  
• Perform essential bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  
• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports, contributing to the financial health assessment of client businesses
  
• Collaborate with senior team members on tax planning initiatives, gaining exposure to advanced financial strategies
  
• Support the development and implementation of efficient bookkeeping processes as the company expands its service offerings
  
• Stay updated on accounting software developments and industry best practices to continually improve service quality
  

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
  
• Proficiency in QuickBooks; familiarity with Xero is a significant plus
  
• Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy
  
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
  
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple client accounts efficiently
  
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients
  
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting
  
• Adaptability and eagerness to learn new skills and technologies in a rapidly evolving business environment
  
• Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  
• Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility to increase hours as the business grows
