The Senior Manager, Global Tax and Treasury will play a critical role in overseeing the global tax strategy, compliance, and treasury operations for an international SaaS company. This position will focus on managing external tax advisory firms while driving initiatives related to corporate tax planning, compliance, and treasury optimization. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in international tax, intercompany accounting, and treasury management, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals and regulatory requirements.
What you’ll do:
Tax Management
● Collaborate with external tax advisors to oversee and manage specialized tax projects, including:
- IRC 382 Study for net operating loss (NOL) limitations.
- R&D tax credits and related compliance.
- Transfer Pricing studies and intercompany accounting.
- Comprehensive NOL and IP analysis.
- Sales and VAT tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Nexus studies to identify state and internal tax obligations.
- Annual tax provision under ASC 740.
- Support the company and participate in the tax RFP process.
● Drive proactive tax planning strategies to minimize global tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
● Monitor tax policy developments and their implications on the business.
Treasury Management
● Implement (as directed by the CFO) and maintain the company’s global investment policy, as approved by the Board of Directors, to optimize the company’s liquidity, ensure effective cash flow management, and mitigate risk. Ensuring collaboration with the CFO and CAO on any tax impacts of operating within the guidelines of the Investment Policy.
● Oversee banking relationships and vendor agreements to support global operations and enhance cost efficiency.
● Provide strategic guidance on currency risk management and hedging activities in alignment with international operations.
● Proactively work with Financial Planning and Analysis team to support cash flow forecasting and reporting processes to support business decisions.
Intercompany & Financial Analysis
● Partner with Accounting and Legal teams to review and refine intercompany agreements, ensuring compliance with transfer pricing regulations.
● Analyze and monitor the financial implications of global tax strategies, including IP and NOL utilization.
● Support M&A activity through tax due diligence and integration strategies.
Leadership and Collaboration
● Act as a trusted advisor to the finance leadership team, providing insights and recommendations on tax and treasury matters.
● Partner with internal accounting and finance teams to ensure alignment on tax provisions, compliance, and treasury operations.
● Build strong relationships with external advisors and vendors, ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely execution of projects.
What We’re looking for:
Education:
● Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field
● Preferred: CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred
Experience:
● Required: 8+ years of progressive experience in tax and treasury, preferably in a multinational or SaaS environment.
● In-depth knowledge of global tax regulations, transfer pricing, and treasury operations.
● Strong experience managing external advisors and working on complex tax and treasury projects.
● Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite) and tax compliance software (Avalara).
● Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts to stakeholders
● Preferred: Experience with tax compliance and treasury management in a SaaS or technology company.
● Strong understanding of ASC 740 and financial reporting for global tax provisions.
● Proven track record of successful project management across multiple jurisdictions.
