The Senior Brand Designer contributes to high-level design work while managing a small team. Reporting to the Art Director, the Senior Brand Designer is responsible for overseeing high-level design work and campaigns, ensuring creative accuracy, and upholding design principles. This role involves balancing individual design responsibilities, requiring the ideal candidate to prioritize tasks, juggle multiple projects, and communicate proactively about bandwidth challenges. The Senior Brand Designer will work cross-functionally with retail managers across multiple states.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Execute high-level design work from concept development to final delivery, maintaining brand consistency and creative integrity.
  • Mentor designers by providing constructive feedback to ensure work is accurate, creative, and aligned with design principles.
  • Work cross-functionally with retail managers across various states to ensure creative work supports both regional and enterprise business objectives.
  • Review and refine design output to ensure adherence to brand guidelines and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director to deliver projects that meet both creative and business goals.
  • Proactively communicate bandwidth challenges, ensuring workloads are balanced and deadlines are met without sacrificing quality.
  • Maintain high design standards, promoting innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and resource efficiency.
  • Present creative solutions and justify design decisions in the context of business and marketing objectives.

  • Experience & Requirements:
  • 3-6 years of experience in a media production or design role, preferably in a fast-paced, production-focused environment, either in-house or at an agency.
  • A B.A. in Graphic Design, or equivalent experience.
  • Substantial experience as a designer, with a portfolio showcasing strong creative taste and versatility across various mediums.
  • Management experience, with the ability to provide feedback and mentor peers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and manage expectations with retail managers and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance design work with management responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate design choices and rationale, and to escalate concerns when project load becomes unmanageable.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma).
  • Understanding of design principles, marketing objectives, and the ability to align creative output with business strategies.
  • Expertise in the cannabis industry is a plus.
  • Previous experience in promotional marketing or digital advertising is a plus.
