Ubiminds is assisting a company that is the world’s largest platform to search, discover, and create fun integrations to the major platforms out there (Facebook, Instagram, iMessage, Twitter, Slack, etc). They’re the leading brand in short-form entertainment and visual communication.
What you'll do
- Manage and develop the backend of our Django and Django Rest applications
- Support and maintain our web-oo-api, a subset of Django Rest endpoints that support both web and mobile apps
- Maintain our Django admin interface for user management and critical business processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and help define best practices for contributing to our codebases
- Take full responsibility for the platform by proactively identifying and implementing improvements. Even without direct customer interactions, ensure that your work is prioritized to minimize customer impact
- Be available for approximately 20 hours per year to provide on-call support during critical events, ensuring swift and effective resolution of any issues
In order to succeed in this position, you will need
Mandatory skills
- Advanced English skills.
- Based in Latin America.
- Solid experience in Python and Django
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and gRPC Services
- Solid understanding of database design and SQL query tuning at a large scale
- Familiarity with client authentication and security best practices
- Experience with task queue systems like Celery a plus
- Knowledge of containerization and cloud technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Ability to write clear, maintainable, and well-documented code
Nice-to-have
- Experience with NextJS or similar JavaScript frameworks
- Experience supporting backends for mobile a plus
- Understanding of CI/CD practices
- Experience with large-scale, high-traffic applications
Non-technical skills
- Sense of humor and excellent communication skills
