Job description

Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year

Benefit Eligible: Yes, includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision) along with paid time off and a 401(k) with company match

Location: Remote (WFH) with location restrictions within the United States. For tax and compliance purposes, this role is open only to candidates that will work or reside in the following states: AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, LA, MO, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, TX, VA, WA, WI, WY.

Classification: Exempt, Regular Full-time

The Opportunity

The E-Commerce Fulfillment Manager is responsible for managing our direct-to-consumer order fulfillment processes and parcel carrier relations. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient and accurate order processing in addition to managing our mail carrier relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in e-commerce fulfillment processes, parcel carrier negotiations, leadership skills, and a passion for optimizing processes.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Supervise, train, and motivate a team of fulfillment specialists to achieve daily fulfillment goals.
  2. Monitor shipping performance and address any issues or delays with carriers.
  3. Negotiate parcel rates and manage relationships with mail carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx).
  4. Identify cost-saving opportunities through the review of carrier rates, partnerships and optimizing shipping zones.
  5. Lead order processing implementation with new ERP software.
  6. Optimize fulfillment processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  7. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  8. Work cross functionally with customer service, supply chain and warehouse operations teams.
 

Supervisory Responsibility

As the team grows, this role will supervise, train, and motivate a team of fulfillment specialists to achieve daily fulfillment goals.

 

Competencies

  1. Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing teams.
  2. Strong understanding of e-commerce fulfillment processes and parcel shipping logistics.
  3. Excellent organizational and time management skills
  4. Proficient in using order management systems (OMS) and other relevant software.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
 

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in business, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  2. 5+ years of experience in e-commerce fulfillment 
  3. Negotiating experience with mail carriers
  4. Working knowledge of OMS and ERP systems
 

Preferred Education & Experience

  1. ShipStation and Acumatica experience preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies that weigh up to 20 pounds, and to bend and stand as necessary.  

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are regular business hours in the employee’s time zone (for example, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position does not require travel.
