About The Role

We are seeking an experienced SEO Strategist with a passion for driving organic growth for national and local companies. In this role, you will develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies that improve our clients’ search rankings, organic traffic, and conversions. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in SEO strategy and website analysis, with the technical savvy to audit sites and the creativity to find growth opportunities. You’ll work cross-functionally with content writers, account managers, and developers to execute your strategies, and you’ll use data to monitor performance and adjust tactics. This is a key role in ensuring our clients stay ahead in search engine results through on-page improvements, technical SEO fixes, and content strategies.

Responsabilities
  • Website Audits: Conduct thorough SEO audits of client websites to identify technical issues. Diagnose problems with site structure, page speed, crawlability, indexing, and other factors that could hinder search performance.
  • Strategy Development: Develop tailored SEO strategies for each client (including both national and local SEO campaigns). Outline clear objectives, target keywords, and tactics for on-page SEO, content creation, link building, and technical optimizations.
  • Content Planning: Create actionable content plans and keyword strategies for the copywriting team. Provide writers with SEO briefs or content outlines to ensure new content is aligned with keyword targets and overall strategy.
  • Client & Team Communication: Prepare detailed strategy documents and SEO action plans. Communicate these plans to account managers and other stakeholders to ensure everyone understands the strategy and their role in execution.
  • Implementation & Oversight: Oversee the implementation of SEO recommendations, which may include updating meta tags, improving internal linking, setting up redirects, or coordinating technical fixes with developers. Ensure changes are executed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Performance Analysis: Use tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, rank tracking, Semrush, GBP insights and Looker to analyze website performance metrics. Track keyword rankings, organic traffic trends, click-through rates, and user engagement metrics to gauge the impact of SEO efforts.
  • Reporting: Compile monthly SEO reports that highlight progress, insights, and ROI for clients. Use Looker (or similar data visualization tools) to create clear, digestible reports for clients and internal teams, explaining what the data means and what actions will be taken next.
  • Competitive Research: Monitor competitor websites and SEO activities. Identify competitor strategies, backlink profiles, and content that are performing well, and use these insights to adjust or improve our own strategies.
  • Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest search engine algorithm updates, SEO trends, and best practices. Proactively test new SEO techniques and stay informed through industry blogs, forums, webinars, and conferences.
  • Continuous Improvement: Based on data analysis and industry changes, provide ongoing recommendations for on-page, off-page, and technical SEO improvements. This includes suggesting new content opportunities, link-building prospects, local SEO optimizations (e.g., Google Business Profile updates), and technical enhancements to maintain and boost rankings.



Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in developing and executing SEO strategies, conducting SEO audits, and analyzing website performance. Agency experience with multiple clients (including local businesses and national brands) is a plus.
  • Analytics & Tools: Strong proficiency with Google Search Console and Google Analytics for monitoring site health and traffic. Experience with rank-tracking tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz) to monitor keyword rankings. Familiarity with Looker or similar BI tools for creating insightful SEO reports and dashboards.
  • Local SEO Knowledge: Solid understanding of local SEO tactics, including optimizing Google Business Profiles, managing local citations, and tailoring content for local search intent.
  • Technical SEO Skills: Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript as it pertains to SEO (understanding of how to identify and fix issues with tags, schema markup, site speed, mobile responsiveness, etc.). Ability to communicate technical requirements to development teams effectively.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to create data-driven SEO strategies and clearly communicate rationale and requirements to clients or internal teams. Strong grasp of how content, technical optimizations, and off-page factors work together for effective SEO.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to investigate drops in performance or ranking issues and identify the root cause, whether it’s technical, content-related, or due to algorithm changes.
  • Adaptability: Ability to stay flexible and adjust strategies in response to search engine algorithm updates and changing client goals. Eagerness to continuously learn and experiment with new SEO techniques.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong project management and organizational abilities. Capable of managing multiple SEO projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and keeping track of various tasks and metrics for different clients.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable presenting strategy plans and performance results to clients and stakeholders. Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain SEO concepts to non-SEO team members in an understandable way.
