Job Title: Velonetic Early Careers Lead

Location: Remote UK based Flexible Working with travel as required

Type: Permanent, Full - time (37.5 hrs per week)

Velonetic represents the joint ventures between DXC Technology, the International Underwriting Association (IUA), and Lloyd’s of London. Previously referred to as the London Market Joint Ventures, we have been operating for over 20 years in the London market (Lloyd's and Company), in both insurance and reinsurance business. Processing over £101 billion worth of premium and claims transactions today, we are building a new digital platform and services that will enable our customers to move transactions and money through the processing lifecycle with greater efficiency and speed, releasing time to drive innovation and focus on higher value activities.

Job Overview

You’ll take responsibility for the day to day management of the Early Careers programme across Velonetic. Partnering with a range of stakeholders, you’ll help shape our early career development programme, helping early careers immerse quickly into Velonetic and ensure they meet performance expectations in their roles. You will also facilitate graduate rotations around the business, decisively putting the right talent in the right place at the right time, providing stretching opportunities to develop talent for the future business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Early Careers annual recruitment drive to ensure the growth of the early careers programme.
  • Design and implement Early Careers programmes initially with graduates with the aim to expand to apprentices and interns.
  • Work in partnership with the Early Careers committee, resource management and senior leaders to scope and identify stretching roles and opportunities for graduates and align the right individual to the right role.
  • Advise and support ‘rotation’ managers in the business to maximise effective placements of our early careers’ candidates.
  • Line management responsibilities for approx. 6-12 early careers hires
  • Design, develop and manage EC graduate induction process and content
  • Seek and create opportunities to work in partnership with other early careers schemes across the London market and promote Velonetic own programmes.

About you

  • You will have a strong background in talent development and/or programme management with a passion for Early Careers.
  • You will be comfortable with both face to face and virtual facilitation with an audience from diverse backgrounds.
  • You will be a self-starter, keen to ensure every EC staff member is aligned with the right project work assignment & role.
  • You will be comfortable influencing and challenging senior stakeholders throughout the various business functions and be able to create something from scratch with your innovation and ideas.
  • You have the ability to build meaningful and engaging programmes that can be scaled.
  • You have excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the London Insurance Market would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Experience in performance management, coaching / mentoring others and designing learning interventions would be beneficial but is not essential.
