Your Impact:As a Software Engineer II, you will lead the design and development of complex features and components for our cloud-based SaaS platform. You will architect and implement scalable solutions, provide technical guidance to other engineers, and contribute to the evolution of our technology stack. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to take on greater technical responsibility and ownership.
You will report to the Engineering Lead based in the UK. This is a fully remote position, and we value the ability to work autonomously while staying highly collaborative within the team.

What You’ll Do:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex features and components for cloud-based SaaS applications using PHP and related technologies.
  • Lead the development of medium to large-sized features, taking ownership from design to deployment and monitoring.
  • Architect and implement solutions that are scalable, resilient, and maintainable.
  • Proactively identify and address technical debt and architectural improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, including code reviews and mentoring.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and refine technical requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, including performance and scalability problems.
  • Contribute to the selection and evaluation of new technologies and tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

    • What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent and 2-4 years of relevant experience is required. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Experience with e-commerce and with specific experience of Shopify a plus!
  • Strong expertise in programming principles (e.g. OOP, MVC) and design patterns (e.g. DRY, SOLID).
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, including experience with frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
  • Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and working with GraphQL is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience with database optimization and ORM frameworks.
  • Experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, or Angular) is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment tools, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Proven experience leading small to medium-sized development teams in an Agile environment.
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
  • Experience with security best practices for web applications.
  • Proficiency in prompt engineering and experience in using AI coding assistant tool in day-to-day work.
  • Proficient in English.
