About the Technical Lead role...

Our Java/Kotlin teams work on our core services which powers a large-scale, highly transactional distribution platform for hotels. We are heavily invested in cloud technologies and using asynchronous, reactive, and microservice architectures. The role of the Technical Lead in a product / project team is to lead the technology implementation in the team by communicating the product and technical roadmap, and ensuring adherence to appropriate coding and quality standards.

What you'll do...

Guide a team in the design and delivery of application code
Planning and delivery of roadmap items
Responsibility for quality of the team’s technical deliverables
Technical touch point for engineers in the team
Help to shape requirements in the product backlogs
Mentor and teach best practices, technologies and programming languages/frameworks
Collaborate with Principal Engineers to identify and scope technical priorities
Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers to prioritise technical work in the product roadmaps and backlogs
Support production systems on a shared roster basis

What you'll have...

Passionate about coaching and developing engineering best practices
Participates and facilitates requirements and solution design
Highly experienced in Java/JVM technologies
Complex problem solving skills and forward thinking to support and manage escalated technical challenges/issues

Understanding code testability, build pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD systems
Professional experience with relational databases (MySQL, Aurora) and key/value store databases (Cassandra, Redis)

AWS experience with IAM, Kinesis, SQS, Lambda, S3, etc.
Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Aurora) and key/value store databases (Cassandra, Redis)
Knowledge of spring / spring boot framework or inversion of control

Having worked with high scale systems
Kotlin / Groovy / Grails, Kubernetes, and Prometheus background is highly desirable
Infrastructure as code experience using a tool such as Terraform or similar
