Position Summary

The Director of Financial Insights is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the financial performance of the organization, focusing on labor productivity, statistics, cost accounting, and financial reporting. This individual will utilize financial metrics, productivity data, and cost analysis to drive strategic decisions that improve both operational efficiency and financial outcomes. A key aspect of this role will be providing education to leadership teams on financial best practices, cost accounting methods, and the effective use of financial tools to optimize performance.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing refinement of cost accounting systems, including cost allocation and activity-based costing.

  • Provide training and ongoing education for leadership teams on financial best practices and effective use of financial tools to optimize performance.

  • Develop and implement standardized financial and productivity reporting processes across all divisions, ensuring data integrity and consistency.

  • Lead process improvement projects that aim to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and improve financial reporting systems.

  • Standardize labor benchmarking efforts across all divisions, utilizing national guidelines and industry best practices.

  • Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts and labor management experts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in healthcare finance with a focus on labor productivity, cost management, or financial performance optimization

  • 5 years leadership experience

  • Experience in leading matrixed teams and managing cross-functional projects.

  • Experience in delivering reporting and analytical solutions using at least two of the leading tools such as Cognos, Tableau, Microsoft Reporting Services, Business Objects, Microstrategy, Oracle OBIEE, or QlikView.

  • Proficiency with financial software systems, data visualization tools, and advanced Excel functions. Knowledge of SQL, ERP systems, or other financial platforms is preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $139,630.00 - $200,949.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
