Bridge Specialty Group is seeking an Associate Broker to join our growing team!
The Associate Broker Works directly with an established broker under general supervision of operations leader and office leader. The associate brokers' primary duties are to review insurance submissions and applications to evaluate, qualify and market individuals and groups for insurance.
How You Will Contribute:
Examine application forms, inspection reports, insurance maps, and loss runs to assess risk factors such as ISO classifications, applicant financials, age, occupation, accident history, and property condition.
Review company records to determine the amount of insurance in force on single or closely related risks, evaluating potential losses from catastrophes or excessive coverage.
Broker risks by ensuring the completion of required documentation, obtaining necessary quotes and binders in writing, issuing policies accurately, making state filings, and ensuring taxes are paid in accordance with state laws.
Secure payments on risks bound or written to maintain proper financial controls.
Review, analyze, and qualify risks submitted by Producers, evaluate submissions for premium and terms, and issue indications, quotes, and binders, utilizing inspection companies when necessary.
Develop and maintain carrier and brokerage relationships to place specific risks and grow a book of business.
Market and meet with retail agency customers to develop and cultivate relationships, fostering new business opportunities.
Understand company facilities and broker risks when needed to successfully negotiate placements, managing quote-to-bind activities and production results.
Service existing business, generate new business, and prioritize tasks to effectively manage workload.
Train and guide processors and assistants, reviewing submissions for accuracy and completeness, and developing their brokering skills while reducing clerical workload.
Licenses and Certifications:
P&C State licensed.
CIC, CRIS and CPCU candidate, thorough familiarity with applicable ISO manuals, forms, rating plans, policy forms i.e., coverages, exclusions, conditions, and terms. (Preferred)
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university (Preferred)
5 years insurance experience, 2 years of which is as an underwriting assistant. (Preferred)
Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Exceptional telephone demeanor.
Experience with excess and surplus lines underwriting agency or company.
Pay Range
$75,000 - $80,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
