Job description

SeekingSoftware Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester professionals with experience developing and executing software test plans to identify software problems and their causes. This position is a remote, full-time position.

We support a large government organization with the mission to care for United States Veterans and their families. They manage benefit programs desperately needed by the diverse Veteran community they serve. Our team develops the tools to help administer these programs so that those in need are provided services quickly, securely, and with the consideration they deserve.

 

You’ll analyze the needs of users and the target environments to ensure solutions are developed consistent with current architecture. Our solutions leverage the latest technologies, including cloud and machine learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the development and/or requirements team to assist in testing applications
  • Design detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
  • Work closely with developers to resolve bugs.
  • Follow Agile Software Engineering and development practices
  • Participate in design and code reviews to understand the functionality and provide input on potential quality issues
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance test automation frameworks and scripts.
  • Suggest improvements and optimizations for quality assurance processes and testing methodologies
  • Develop and implement quality control methodologies to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures in a large computer-based organization
  • Develop and define major and minor characteristics of quality, including quality metrics and scoring parameters, and determine requisite quality control resources
  • Establish and maintain a process for evaluating hardware, software, and associated documentation and support assessments
  • Conduct formal and informal quality reviews throughout the development life cycle

Requirements

Qualified candidates need:       

  • 5+ Years of Relevant IT Experience Required
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or other engineering/technical discipline. Alternatively, 8 additional years of experience may be substituted for education.
  • Ability to obtain Background Investigation Clearance.
  • Familiar with Selenium and/or Cypress test framework and REST API Testing.
  • Experience with Java, Javascript.
  • Experience with Git.

Additional desired experience but not required include:

  • Experience using the Appian Platform
  • Familiarity with Jira or Rally
