Description

As the Strategic Sourcing Manager you will lead the sourcing of all indirect materials and services spending (packaging, MRO, and corporate spend categories). Additionally, you will also play a pivotal role in implementing and managing the Company’s automated Procure to Pay system to standardize and optimize indirect procurement processes company wide.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing:
    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect materials, packaging, MRO, and corporate spend to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and improved supplier performance.
    • Conduct spend analysis, identify opportunities for consolidation, and negotiate with suppliers to drive value.
    • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance and long-term partnerships.
  • Procure to Pay System Implementation and Management:
    • Lead the company-wide implementation of the Procure to Pay system, including system setup, user training, and ongoing support.
    • Establish and enforce procurement workflows and approval processes within Procure to Pay System, to ensure compliance and efficiency.
    • Monitor system performance and utilization, providing regular reports and insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with supply chain, operations, finance, and other departments to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on indirect procurement and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures for indirect procurement to enhance control and reduce maverick spending.
    • Manage supplier risk, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
    • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
    • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Requirements:
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management or equivalent.  Will consider 6-8 years of similar work experience in lieu of formal education.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive supply chain management experience.
  • Experience with complex, multi-site manufacturers.
  • At least 3 years of customer-facing experience.
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Experience in packaging or printing industry preferred.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High proficiency with Microsoft office (including Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Outlook), project management software (Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, etc.) and Procure to Pay systems (Procurify preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills. Able to transform data into actionable insights.
  • Able to think strategically, proactively and creatively to identify and resolve problems.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-starter and a team player who will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong detail orientation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude; able to convey mechanical and technical concepts to others, using non-technical language.
  • Comfortable with data driven management and data tools and analysis.
  • Change agent; capable of leading through influence, supporting through change and gaining consensus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Training Requirements:

  • Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular sitting and repetitive office tasks are required.
  • Position frequently enters and interacts with production area and is required to stand, crouch, lift or do other physical tasks.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.

Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
  • Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.

Work Hours:

  • Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Extended work hours as needed to complete tasks.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Safety shoes and eye protection are highly recommended in the production area.

Travel requirements:

  • Travel will be required, including occasional travel outside the US. While last-minute travel will be avoided, when possible, it may be required at times. Initial travel estimates are expected to be in the 25%-50% range.
