Job description

The Marketing Content Specialist (FLSA Exempt role) 
will create, edit, and publish content across various platforms, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and company goals. They will manage website content strategy, collaborate with SEO and digital ad partners, and optimize content for engagement. This role also oversees social media, video content creation, and maintains a centralized content repository to support marketing efforts.

Responsibilities: 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create, edit, and publish content across various platforms, including blogs, social media, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure that all content aligns with brand guidelines, messaging, and company objectives.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar to manage content distribution schedules.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely completion of content projects.
  • Manage content workflows, including approvals and revisions, ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Own and manage website content strategy, ensuring updates align with SEO and brand objectives.
  • Optimize web content for search engines, using best practices to increase traffic and improve search rankings.
  • Act as the primary liaison with SEO and digital ad partners, implementing recommendations to improve website performance.
  • Perform keyword research to inform content creation and track SEO performance.
  • Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, social media insights, etc.) to monitor content performance and engagement metrics.
  • Provide regular reports on content effectiveness and suggest improvements based on data.
  • Manage and oversee organic social media strategy, including content planning, execution, and audience engagement.
  • Manage the creation and scheduling of social media posts, ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and branding.
  • Engage with audiences on social platforms, responding to comments and messages in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate on paid media campaigns, ensuring ad content and landing pages align with broader marketing initiatives.
  • Support press and PR efforts, including drafting press releases and assisting with coordinating media outreach.
  • Organize and manage the company’s content library, including photos, graphics, videos, and documents.
  • Ensure all content is properly stored, tagged, and accessible for team use.
  • Oversee video and multimedia content, including light video production, editing, and working with designers/videographers.​​​​Conduct research to stay updated on industry trends, audience preferences, and competitors' strategies.
  • ​​​​​​Propose new content ideas and formats based on research findings to keep content fresh and relevant.
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with the written messaging and overall brand identity.
  • Other duties, as required.

Requirements: 
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in content creation, digital marketing, or a similar role.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and content optimization.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), websites, and social media platforms.
  • Experience with project management and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track content performance.
  • Ability to analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Familiarity with paid media and PR strategies.
  • Basic video production and editing skills are a plus.
