Position Overview:

SHR Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions within Microsoft Azure. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, enhance security, and ensure compliance with federal regulations and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), security frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST, DISA STIGs), and automation scripting.

 

  

 

Job Responsibilities:


Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud-based applications and infrastructure using Azure services.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources.
  • Write and maintain scripts for automation and deployment using PowerShell, Python, or Azure CLI.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal security standards (FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA, DISA STIGs).
  • Implement secure cloud architectures, including DISA SCCA FRD, Landing Zones, and cloud-native services.
  • Configure and maintain Azure Virtual Networks (VNet), VPNs, ExpressRoute, and hybrid cloud connectivity solutions.

Optimization & Troubleshooting

  • Monitor and optimize cloud environments for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services, infrastructure, and cloud networking.
  • Collaborate with security teams and developers to integrate CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Work with stakeholders to document architectures, configurations, and best practices.
  • Assist in configuring identity and access management for Azure environments.
  • Support cross-functional teams in deploying public and private peering connections.

 

 

Skill Requirements:

  • Azure Expertise: Proficiency in Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS solutions.
  • Automation & Scripting: Strong experience with PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, or similar languages for automation
  • Security & Compliance: Knowledge of FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, DISA STIGs, Cloud SRG, and Cloud best practices.
  • Cloud Networking: Experience deploying DISA SCCA FRD, Landing Zones, BCAP, CNAP, and peering connections.
  • CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, or similar).


Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

 

Experience:

  • Must have 5 years or more experience 

 

Certifications:

 

8570 IAT Levell II or higher

Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, or equivalent).
