Title: Accounting Manager
FLSA Classification: Exempt

Salary: $90,000-112,500 + bonus

Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and strong internal controls. This role will support the organization’s financial stability and growth by managing core accounting functions and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities, providing guidance and oversight to accounting team members.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department.
Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Analyze financial data to support decision-making and process improvements.
Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals during audits and tax filings.
Support financial planning, forecasting, and reporting activities.
Provide mentorship and development opportunities for accounting team members.
Stay current on accounting standards and best practices.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience in accounting management or a similar supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and leadership abilities.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
