We’re looking for a skilled Platform Engineering Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll use Terraform to build, validate, and optimize AWS architecture and CI/CD pipelines for application development teams, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency while collaborating to improve the development process.

Location: Remote - Colombia

What you will be doing:
You will play a pivotal role in facilitating the development of scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure through the advanced use of Terraform and AWS services. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and validate AWS architecture, emphasizing automation and continuous integration using Jenkins. Working closely with application development teams, you will ensure infrastructure aligns with project standards and requirements. This position is crucial in managing AWS components like Fargate, EC2, IAM, and CloudWatch while ensuring infrastructure integrity and performance. You will bring your expertise in agile methodologies to actively participate in improving development processes. The role offers the opportunity to address complex infrastructure challenges and contribute to the broader engineering efforts of Lean Tech, fostering innovation across a dynamic, international landscape. Your responsibilities include:
  • Design, build, and validate scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform, focusing on security and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, utilizing Jenkins, to support continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Manage AWS services, including Fargate, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, and Aurora/Postgres, to ensure optimal performance and cost management.
  • Review and approve code changes, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues across development and production environments.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to ensure infrastructure effectively supports project requirements.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to iterative planning and improvement processes.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and implement compliance measures for AWS infrastructure.

Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • Advanced experience with AWS, including services such as AWS Fargate, EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, and Aurora/Postgres.
  • Strong expertise in Terraform for building, validating, and optimizing AWS architecture and infrastructure automation.
  • Intermediate understanding of CI/CD practices and maintenance of pipelines, with proficiency in Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in Docker and working within containerized environments.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, including active participation in agile ceremonies.
  • Competence in shell scripting, with the ability to write and validate infrastructure as code.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Desired skills
  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration
  • Knowledge of other CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Travis CI
  • Certification in AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to innovate solutions
