POSITION OVERVIEW
The Good Farm Fund, a fiscally sponsored project of North Coast Opportunities, is seeking a Project Coordinator III that will focus on marketing and development to oversee and support critical program functions, including marketing, donor development, and fundraising. This role is perfect for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual passionate about sustainable local food systems and community driven work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising
- The Coordinator is responsible for fundraising to meet the program’s annual budget, with strategic support and guidance from the Good Farm Fund Steering Committee.
Events
- Collaborate with the Steering Committee to plan and execute one major annual fundraiser.
- Assess potential venue partners and work with steering committee to decide date and location.
- Events must feature GFF’s inclusive event format (e.g., starting ticket price of $45, with opportunities to donate more at the event).
- Ensure events showcase farm-to-table food, Good Farm Fund awardees, and local chefs.
- Oversee sponsor outreach, including farms, chefs, media, cash contributions, raffle donations, and bar partnerships.
- Uphold the high-quality standards associated with Good Farm Fund events, utilizing established planning timelines.
Grants
- Research, identify, and apply for funding opportunities, such as:
- Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) and Community Foundation Grants (application cycles in December).
- Convene a workgroup to collaborate on grants exceeding $5,000.
Donor Development
- Consolidate and maintain donor lists in Network for Good from various spreadsheets and contact databases (e.g., Mailchimp).
- Build and maintain existing relationships with major donors.
- Plan and implement personalized outreach strategies with support from the steering committee (thank-you notes, in-person meetings, phone calls, and invitations to events).
Marketing and Public Relations
- Manage and grow the Good Farm Fund’s social media presence.
- Create 1 post per week on Facebook and Instagram, focusing on program highlights and community impact.
- Publish 1-2 posts/month to highlight sponsor contributions.
- Share 1-2 posts/month featuring farm grant testimonials or stories from prior awardees.
- Develop 1-2 posts/month encouraging the community to support the Good Farm Fund.
- Create and distribute a monthly Mailchimp newsletter to engage supporters and share updates.
- Coordinate media outreach:
- Arrange 1 annual radio interview (e.g., Farm and Garden Show).
- Secure 2 feature articles annually in local or regional press outlets.
Organizational Partnerships
- Foster and maintain partnerships with nonprofit organizations and stakeholders involved in food and farming initiatives.
- Identify areas of overlap and opportunities for collaboration.
- Represent the Good Farm Fund in relevant meetings and initiatives with organizations such as: North Coast Opportunities, School of Adaptive Agriculture, Mendocino Food Policy Council, Xa Kako Dile, MCFARM, Food Hub, Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF), West Business Development Center, Mendocino County Farm Bureau.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience:
Level I:
- A minimum of three years of successful experience in a similar position or related field.
Level II (in addition to Level I):
- A minimum combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in a related field (such as Business or Public Administration, Health & Human Services, etc.) from an accredited school.
- A minimum of one year’s experience in the same or similar position.
- Past experience with project-based work and/or administration of grant-funded programs is preferred.
Level III (in addition to Level II):
- A minimum combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited school.
- Requires supervision of other project staff.
- Requires responsibility of project budget(s), following the policies and procedures of NCO and it’s accounting department practices.
- Experience in marketing, donor development, event planning, and/or nonprofit coordination is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including social media and press relations is required.
- Proficiency with tools such as Mailchimp, Network for Good, and other donor or contact management systems is required.
- Commitment to sustainable food systems and supporting small-scale agriculture is required.
- Experience in grant writing and fundraising is preferred.
- Background in nonprofit management or community organizing is preferred.
Knowledge of:
- Mendocino and Lake Counties’ food systems and farming communities is preferred.
- Principles and practices of interpersonal communications.
- Current standard office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Computer operations as relates to the duties of the position; position requires demonstrated proficiency in the use of cloud-based systems, word processing, email, and spreadsheet programs and the internet.
Ability to:
- Manage time and prioritize work given available time and resources.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Interact with others in a culturally and emotionally sensitive manner.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately verbally and in writing in English is required.

Necessary Special Skills & Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- For work-related driving, must have a valid California driver’s license, a verifiable good driving record, and access to a vehicle with insurance that covers the employee as a driver OR reliable transportation with proof of automobile insurance.
