We are seeking a New Client Development Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in supporting sales/marketing efforts and growth consulting within WEG’s advisor channel. The intern will assist with sales proposal preparation and pipeline management and building financial plans. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to shadow our Growth Consultants during advisor meetings to learn about how to grow and develop their advisory practices. Key takeaways from this internship include developing skills in sales, financial planning, and advisor coaching, making it an ideal position for students aspiring to build a growth-focused career in financial services.

Primary Job Functions

Sales Proposals and Pipeline Management

  • Learn how to effectively use MoneyGuidePro to build financial plans and to develop sales proposals

  • Partner with New Client Development team to understand company brand and messaging, company service offerings, and current marketing channels

  • Shadow team members to learn how to conduct follow-up calls with prospects

  • With manager/team support and oversight, intern will independently conduct follow-up calls with prospects

 New Client Onboarding Support

  • Support team with onboarding new clients and case submissions using Salesforce

  • Track case submissions in Salesforce, ensuring tasks are executed in a timely manner

  • Enter data and upload documents into Salesforce to support new client onboarding efforts

Advisor Coaching

  • Sit in on advisor coaching meetings with growth consultants

  • Accurately record meeting notes and share with team after each meeting

  • Send follow-up emails to advisor and growth consultants with outstanding tasks or requests

Education/Qualifications

  • Preferably pursuing bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field.

  • Preferably students between their junior and senior years.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Detail oriented, highly organized, problem solver, adaptable, and able to work autonomously.

WEG hires employees and makes decisions about their salary qualifications based on factors such as: the role to be performed; educational and professional experience, qualifications, skills and credentials; tenure, cost-of-living and demand for the role in the applicable market. Thus, the entire salary range for those who are classified as the Intern level is $34,309 to $52,983.
