Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial data and records to ensure accuracy and completeness in tax filings.
  • Prepare, review, and file corporate, trust, partnership, and personal tax returns in strict compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and trust.
  • Respond to CRA notices and assist clients during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Stay informed on current tax laws, regulations, and trends to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct thorough research to support tax positions and resolve any issues.
  • Produce HST reports and government forms, including T4, T5, T3, and other slips.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, reviewing their work to ensure high standards.
  • Actively participate in business development efforts to identify and pursue opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all client transactions, communications, and filings.


Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of corporate tax experience, including preparation of corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns.
  • Experience in preparing personal tax returns and providing basic tax consultations.
  • Proficiency in preparing Notice to Reader and Compilation financial statements.
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping to assist in file preparation and manage client accounts monthly.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal abilities; client service is our top priority, so you should be comfortable answering questions and building relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively, especially during the tax season.
