Job Title: Senior Data Scientist

Position Summary:

What you’ll do:

Machine Vision-Based Defect Detection & Cosmetic Grading:

• Model Development: Design, develop, and deploy deep learning models (e.g., convolutional neural networks - CNNs) for automated defect detection and classification using high-resolution images of mobile devices.
• Image Processing: Implement advanced image processing techniques (e.g., segmentation, feature extraction, augmentation) to enhance defect visibility and model accuracy.
• Cosmetic Grading Automation: Create and refine models to accurately assign cosmetic grades based on detected defects, aligning with market standards and internal criteria.
• Data Pipeline Management: Build and maintain efficient data pipelines for image acquisition, annotation, and model training.

Predictive Modeling for Device Condition & Valuation:

• Multi-Modal Data Integration: Integrate machine vision data with structured data (e.g., device specifications, test results, usage history) and unstructured data (e.g., user reviews, repair logs) to build comprehensive predictive models.
• Component Failure Prediction: Develop models to predict the probability of component failures based on usage patterns, environmental factors, and device history.
• Market Value Prediction: Create sophisticated models to predict the market value of devices based on cosmetic condition, functional status, and market trends.
• Feature Engineering: Perform advanced feature engineering to extract meaningful insights from diverse data sources, improving model accuracy and interpretability.

Robotic Processing Line Monitoring & Alerting:

• Real-Time Anomaly Detection: Develop models for real-time anomaly detection on the robotic processing line, identifying potential defects and process deviations.
• Reporting & Visualization: Create interactive dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators and provide actionable insights for process optimization.
• Predictive Maintenance: Develop models to predict potential equipment failures and schedule preventative maintenance, minimizing downtime.

Generative AI Applications:

• Synthetic Data Generation: Utilize generative AI models (e.g., GANs, VAEs) to generate synthetic image data for model training, addressing data scarcity and improving model robustness.
• Test Data Augmentation: Apply generative AI to augment test data, creating diverse and challenging scenarios to improve model generalization.
• Data Anomaly Generation: Use Generative AI to generate anomalous data to better train anomaly detection models.
• Exploration of new GenAI applications Research and implement new GenAI applications to device test data.

What you’ll need:

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master's) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Four years of experience in developing and deploying deep learning models for computer vision and predictive analytics.
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python) and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong understanding of image processing techniques and machine learning algorithms.
• Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies.
