Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant - Springfield, IL

Hourly Range: $25.00 - $30.00

SUMMARY

The Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), in collaboration with a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist, promotes the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The SLPA is responsible for implementing the identified programs and services planned and directed by the Speech Language Pathologist.

 WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide treatment, guidance, and instruction to residents in individual and group settings, following individual plans of care developed and evaluated by the Speech and Language Pathologist.
  • Collect data and write daily treatment notes as specified within each patient’s treatment plan.
  • Maintain speech and language therapy equipment in good repair and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Promote motivation in treatment through creativity and treat patients with sensitivity and confidentiality.
  • Assist therapist with evaluation and record keeping procedures as directed.

 WHAT YOU WILL BRINGS

  • Associate degree – Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent 
  • Holds Illinois license as Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant
  • Professional and effective communication skills.
  • Enhanced understanding of medical/clinical records, consents, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and software applications.
