Job description

About Us

Platform Engineering is reshaping how enterprises build and run their cloud-native setups, and Humanitec is leading this transformation. Our mission is to help teams build Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) that unlock true developer self-service.

Through our community-driven initiatives, like platformengineering.org and PlatformCon, we are not just following the trend, but defining it. With a growing list of enterprise customers and skyrocketing IDP adoption, we are expanding our team.

This is where you come in.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who is obsessed with building great products for software development teams on cloud-native technologies. If you want to build a product that helps engineering teams succeed, and understand DevOps, SRE, and modern infrastructure, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

We are on a mission to redefine how enterprises build and scale Internal Developer Platforms, and our Humanitec Platform Orchestrator is at the core of this revolution. As a Senior Product Manager, you will drive its evolution, working hand-in-hand with peers in Product, Design, and Engineering to develop tools that enable real Platform Engineering adoption.

This is not a traditional, big-company PM role. You won’t just be writing tickets. You will be shaping how modern infrastructure is built and operated at scale. You will define and build out our product strategy, collaborate deeply with engineering and others across the organization, and ensure our platform doesn’t just deliver technical value, but also helps teams navigate the cultural and organizational change required for successful adoption.

To thrive in this role, you need to be highly technical, deeply passionate about the space, and excited about pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

This is a fully remote position, and we work in small, senior, agile teams. Preferred time zones for this role are UTC-1 to UTC+3.

What You Will Bring:
  • Excellent communication & collaboration: You can translate deeply technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for engineers, executives, and customers alike.

  • Product management skills: At least 5 years of experience in product management, preferably in a technical product, with a track record of owning roadmaps from concept to launch.

  • Deep technical expertise: You have either worked as an engineer or built products for engineers. You understand cloud infrastructure, DevOps tooling, and platform engineering concepts inside-out.

  • A strong opinion on what great Developer Experience looks like: You are passionate about making life easier for engineering teams and have a deep understanding of how developers work.

  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies: You have practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, IaC (Terraform, OpenTofu), CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and developer tooling.

  • A bias for action: You thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where decisions need to be made quickly.

What You Will Do:
  • Shape the future of Platform Engineering: Define and execute a product strategy that impacts engineering teams globally.

  • Drive product direction: Identify pain points, gather customer insights, and define user-centric requirements for product personas.

  • Work hand-in-hand with engineers: Collaborate with engineers to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and a world-class user experience for our products on web, command-line tools, IaC, etc.

  • Define what great DX looks like: Simplify onboarding and activation for customers new to Humanitec.

  • Strengthen our go-to-market efforts: Work closely with marketing and sales to drive adoption and position our platform as a category leader.

If this sounds like a fit, we would love to hear from you! Have questions before applying? Reach out to us at careers@humanitec.com
