Key Components of the role

  • This role is responsible for managing Internal Compliance Audits / Assessments at Kraft Heinz manufacturing facilities.
  • This individual will be responsible for providing guidance and training on Compliance requirements related to KHMS, Golden Rules, FSSC, and other third-party requirements to factories and upskilling the compliance auditors.
  • This position provides quality systems leadership and support for issue resolution at assigned sites as needed. 
  • Support factories in achieving Quality KPIs through participation in root cause activities, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Support the Food Safety & Quality Improvement (FSQI) process helping to managing the risk to help drive zero defects in the factories.
  • Organization and analysis of commercial, technical and process information to assist development and implementation of Process Improvements.
  • Helps support data analysis, tracking priority findings for monthly reporting purposes and SIRI (Significant Incident Reporting and Investigation)
  • Assist in FSQI strategic plan as needed.
  • Support the Consumer/ Customer data & trending for Kraft Heinz U.S. and Canada businesses.
  • This individual will be responsible for providing guidance and training on KHMS to Lead Assessors, Secondary Assessors, site Accountable Persons, and Quality Managers. 
  • This role includes communications to third-parties, global management, North America management, as well as within the Internal Audit department.
  • Acts as Lead with department process improvement initiatives and training.
  • Participates in and supports Quality Management Summit.
  • Key Quality resource/ representative for SBM facility for NPD related activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Manage the Compliance audit process and compliance auditors.
  • Schedule the compliance audit at the sites based on the risk assessment.
  • Communicate with sites on blackout dates and plan possible audit schedules.
  • Lead auditors to standardize the compliance audit template to be site specific.
  • Calibrate the auditors and manage the team for upskilling and auditing.
  • Perform Compliance audit at the site to validate controls to standards.
  • Develop final report and communicate the results.
  • Track and trend audit results to drive further improvements.
  • Develop trainings based on YE trending for factories and review and update standards based on analysis activities.
  • Evaluates audit responses for adequacy, including root cause, timeliness as well as utilizes knowledge to facilitate appropriate corrective action and track on the completion of actions in standardized tools (SIRI). Manage the digital tool.
  • Facilitates Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and completion of CAPA documentation.
  • Performs CAPA effectiveness evaluations within a timely manner.
  • Acts as a primary Compliance point of contact to support customer directly or indirectly via individual programs.
  • Supports and/or conducts review of project-related and application validation documentation, as appropriate.
  • As needed, participates in and/or supports preparation of regulatory agency inspections and/or responses to external observations.
  • Actively supports continuous improvement of the audit program and compliance strategy.
  • Participates in special projects/investigations as needed.
  • Lead compliance activities such as best practice sharing, leading Quality Summit for manufacturing plants and other quality improvement initiatives.
  • Meet third party and FSSC requirements for strong internal audit program.
  • Develop the Corrective Action Training and upskilling.
  • Develop auditor training and upskilling plan.
  • Develop world class compliance adherence on the shop floor to develop Quality and Food Safety Culture.
  • Reduce Significant incidents, RFT and through the compliance audits to have early detections mentality at the factories.
  • Develop modified compliance audit for SBM & Morton Grove
  • Connection to strategic plan
  • This role has the opportunity to serve as an FSQ lead for assigned key quality systems initiatives. 
  • This individual may serve as the primary point of contact for internal sites, and as a subject matter expert for selected external partners. 
  • This person will be responsible for educating BU Quality staff in support of the identified quality systems initiative.

  • Manage the Compliance audits.
  • Leads KHMS / Golden Rule Assessments
  • Monitors assessment schedule changes
  • Coordinates with the site leadership to develop the schedule.
  • Makes travel arrangements and communicates travel plans.
  • Prepares / updates the compliance template to align with policy and regulatory updates.
  • Works with and provides guidance to non-lead assessors.
  • Compiles and reviews assessment comments from team assessors
  • Ensures team assessor’s comments and scoring are correct.
  • Determines which production line will be assessed.
  • Monitors schedule changes during the assessment
  • Mitigates conflict (if necessary) during an assessment.
  • Review the compliance audits for consistency and calibration.
  • Makes corrections to template as appropriate post review.
  • Tracks Priority findings for monthly reporting purposes
  • Completes Golden Rule Audits as required.
  • Develops annual schedule of assessment dates and assessors.
  • Combines the KHMS and FSSC audit schedule together.
  • Makes changes to schedule, when necessary, while keeping communication open with all effected
  • Provides Assessor Training

  • Small Batch Manufacturing (SBM) BU Support
  • SBM functional gatekeeper
  • Support Small batch Manufacturing activities related to corporate and support during PTO times.
  • Provide the needed guidance for SBM NPD, STAR and FPs process.
  • Working R&D and Pilot plant personnel as needed.
  • Implement and assure compliance to all Food Safety, Regulatory, and Quality policies.  
  • Support and back-up the SBM Quality
  • Support the interface with regulatory agency representatives at the sites.  
  • Support the maintenance of food safety programs (e.g., KHMS, HACCP, sanitation, pest control, GMP, traceability, environmental monitoring) and implementation of the site Ways of Workings (WoWs)  
  • Support compliance /FSSC audit readiness – review all quality systems and policies annually.  
  • Ensure standard work through development of work documentation and training to standards.  
  • Work closely with cross-functional members and pilot plant teams in finding creative solutions in a Support SBM Quality KPIs, GR, Performance Monitoring and scorecard.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, engineering or science or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in quality, with a preference for KHMS experience. 
  • Familiarity with Kraft Heinz Quality Policies and Procedures is preferred.
  • Experience with ISO, and/or FSSC 22000.
  • PCQI certification for HACC
  • Food Fraud beneficial
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and plants.
  • Technical depth and strong understanding with Kraft Heinz Quality Policies North America QSPs, and Procedures
  • Auditing experience required either internal or external.
  • Ability to influence key internal (both functional and cross functional) and external business partners, assess and manage risk, and communicate across the supply chain required.
  • Ability to make difficult decisions with little direction or oversight.
  • Willing to travel ~ 60 - 70%, the majority between April and October.
  • Global travel may be required.

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$118,400.00 - $148,000.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
