Job description

BODi is on a mission to build the Health Esteem Category! Having just launched a new brand (from Beachbody to BODi), a new platform, and a new app where fitness and nutrition is supported by positive mindset content, BODi breaks from the fitness and diet industry and ushers in the era of Health Esteem. Health Esteem specifically rejects the legacy fitness and diet industry playbook of pursuing a healthy lifestyle based on self-criticism – a playbook Beachbody used to abide by. But after observing the uptick in mental health challenges since the pandemic and seeing that 74% of Americans remain overweight or obese today, despite the efforts of the fitness industry, BODi had to make a change.

The Senior Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for executing the strategies as established by the Executive Management of Quality within the established legal guidelines and internal standards to ensure the production of the highest quality products in the safest and most efficient manner. This is accomplished by ensuring that Beachbody, its suppliers and contract manufacturers have in place effective quality and food safety systems. The role focuses on strategies related to development and collaboration on specifications with our co-manufacturing and lab partners.  

Principal Accountabilities:

1.       Quality System Tactics

  • Supports Beachbody R&D technology systems to ensure proper delivery and control of Beachbody specifications and standard operating procedures.

  • Provides support to key quality and food safety objectives, goals, strategies and measures. 

  • Implements, enforces and improves established policies, strategies, and procedures related to quality and food safety to achieve Beachbody quality-related goals and objectives.

  • Provides quality and technical support to Product Development teams in the development and implementation of Beachbody products.

  • Coordinates and helps troubleshoot an out of specifications test data for raw materials and finished products between teams including, Product Development, co-manufacturers, 3rd Party Laboratories and suppliers.

  • Statistically analyze quality data and identify potential problem areas to prevent issues.

  • Collaborates and support Legal Regulatory teams especially on country registrations for products that will be sold in Canada.

  • Responsible for reviewing/approving supplier documentation and data to drive key partnerships and assess risk

  • Supports Beachbody R&D technology systems to ensure proper delivery and control of Beachbody specifications, standard operating, procedures, and workflows.

  • Provide quality and technical support to product development teams in the design, development, and implementation of Beachbody products

  • Coordinates and helps troubleshoot raw material exceptions between Beachbody suppliers, comans, supplier quality, and sourcing. 

  • Provide feedback to Operations regarding suppliers and contract manufacturers to deliver raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods that comply with specifications/design at optimal costs and minimal risk to the business. 

  • Statistically analyze quality data and identify potential problem areas to prevent issues.

  • Responsible for Qualifying 3rd Part laboratories to ensure compliant with ISO17025 and GLP.

2.       Collaboration

  • Works in a collaborative environment with external and internal partners

  • Collaborates/ Develops with Quality Assurance leadership action plans and recommendations on major quality and safety concerns

  • Key external interface with Beachbody suppliers and co-mans

  • Works on cross functional teams to champion the resolution of key quality issues

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge and Mission Critical Competencies

  • Knowledge of Government Regulations 21CFR Part 110 and 111, FSMA.

  • Quality Systems Including GMP’s, Statistical Process Control

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems specifically related to analytical testing and food/dietary supplement processing.

  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral, to effectively implement and facilitate new ideas, processes, and programs into a new production facility

  • Knowledge and experience with development of specifications in a turnkey business model collaborating with suppliers, co-manufacturers and laboratories

Key Experiences

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a related field.

  • Method Development and Validation experience is a plus

  • Experience working in a quality function in supplier quality or contract manufacturing

  • Ability to represent the company needs when dealing with suppliers, contract manufacturers, regulatory agencies, and other departments within the corporation.

Desired Education

  • BS degree in Food Science and Food Safety preferably with background in Chemistry or Microbiology.

The applicable base salary range for each role varies based on several factors, including, but not limited to geographic location and job-related education, training, knowledge, and experience. This range may be modified in the future.

The pay range for this position is:
 

$155,800.00 - $187,500.00
