Job description

As a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist, you’ll take ownership of SEO efforts across Hagerty’s websites. This role reports to the Manager of Content Marketing alongside the Acquisition Marketing team in support of Organic performance and will work closely with product owners and development teams throughout the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee performance from Organic traffic across Hagerty domains through a combination of regular audits and reporting utilizing a variety of SEO (SEMRush, Similarweb, Google Search Console, etc.) and Site Analytics (Adobe Analytics) tools.
  • Develop on-page and content optimization strategies alongside Manager of Content Marketing to drive growth in Organic traffic and performance, including (but not limited to): meta tags, keyword optimization, copy refreshes, content development, backlinking, and other structural recommendations.
  • Own technical SEO for all owned websites, providing recommendations and guidelines on tag and structural optimizations for existing and new site initiatives.
  • Provide regular reporting to business highlighting trends in Organic traffic and performance, identifying areas of need and opportunity.
  • Manage and review link structure, canonicalization, schema markup, and mobile SEO elements.
  • Collaborate with various departments (tech, editorial, marketing, business intelligence, product, etc.) on SEO best practices via full website audits which pinpoint potential issues and provides clear and direct updates.
  • Understanding of how development changes affect SEO.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEO trends and algorithm updates.

This Might Describe You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in applicable field.
  • Strong experience as SEO professional in an agency or in-house setting.
  • Experience with industry tools (e.g. SEMRush, Google and/or Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, Similarweb, Moz, Ahrefs, etc.)
  • Comfortable with presentation (e.g. PowerPoint) and spreadsheet (e.g. Microsoft Excel) tools to compile data into information and insights.
  • Functional knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Proven track record of ownership and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas via slack, email or video communication.

  • This position can be worked as a remote position within the United States.
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
